Birmingham Exiles 1st XV 5 - 21 Trinity Guild
Birmingham Exiles lost a hard-fought match against Coventry side Trinity Guild.
The opening 15 minutes were scoreless. Then a penalty goal attempt from Guild went wide but E’s defence was caught napping, the home fly-half nipping in to touch down, the full back converting.
Five minutes later, following another penalty, the home pack combined well for the open side flanker to cross for a second try, which was converted.
HT: Trinity Guild 14 pts, Birmingham Exiles 0
Exiles regained posession from the second half restart and, after five minutes of intense pressure by the forwards, hooker Kieran Walter forced his way over in the corner.
The decisive score came when Guild’s outside centre broke through to touch down for a try that the full back duly converted.
In a somewhat heated final 10 minutes, E’s did all they could to get back into contention, but no further points came.
